Transdermal Gel Application Instructions

Medication Instructions
Transdermal gels must be applied to clean skin with little hair, and is difficult for pets to lick. In general, the inside hairless part of the ear works well.
Alternating ears is recommended.
Do not apply transdermal gels to any skin that has open cuts or sores.
Finger cots are included with your order. Always use them to apply the medication. DO NOT apply with your bare finger.
You should gently clean the application site with dampened cotton several times a week.
Avoid using cotton swabs to apply the medication, as most of the medication will stick to them, and your pet will not receive the correct dose.
Use your thumb or index finger covered with a finger cot to apply transdermal gel.
Application of Transdermal Gel
Use a moist paper towel and wipe the site where you will administer the medication and allow time to dry.
Remove the colored protective tip from the transdermal syringe.
Apply a plastic glove or finger cot before handling transdermal gel.
Apply the prescribed amount to your thumb or index finger which is protected with a plastic glove or finger cot.
Apply and distribute medication gently to your pet at the application site until completely absorbed.
Carefully remove the glove or finger cot, dispose of it promptly, and wash your hands.
Keep your pet away from other pets for a period of 30 minutes to allow for absorption of medication.
